GM from the Trenches and Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey, it’s Kyle Patrick here, bringing you the latest updates and insights straight from the frontlines of the Farcaster ecosystem. Let’s dive into what’s shaping the week ahead and celebrate the incredible work happening across our community!
Stories from the Trenches
1. Clanker Exclusively Available Through Anonfun for 24 Hours
For the next 24 hours, Clanker can only be accessed via Anonfun on Anoncast. Here’s how it works:
Go to Anoncast and switch to Anonfun mode.
Tag Clanker with the desired ticker, name, and image.
Post anonymously.
Take advantage of this limited-time exclusive to explore and engage with Clanker in a unique way.
2. Supercast Rebrands to @super, Embracing Independence
Supercast, which began as an extension of Warpcast, is now evolving into something much bigger under its new identity, @super. The name reflects its growth from being just a Farcaster client into a multifaceted platform:
Home to some of the largest group chats on Farcaster, like Supercasters and Alpha Leaks.
Creator of Superanon, Farcaster’s first and largest anonymous account.
Enabled over $1 million in airdrops for Supercasters, including tokens like Moxie, Degen, $ANON, and $anon.
Launched Friends Map, the only tool to visualize Farcaster location data on a map.
Introduced Super Artifacts, hailed as the new CryptoPunks on Zora.
Looking ahead, @super plans to launch a free plan and native mobile apps for iOS and Android in 2025, with ambitions to onboard users at the same scale as Warpcast does today. The rebrand reflects Super’s evolution into a standalone platform with its own identity, ready to carve its place in the Farcaster ecosystem.
3. Warpcast Introduces Starter Packs
Warpcast launches Starter Packs, a powerful tool to help friends quickly find their community on Farcaster. With Starter Packs, you can:
Curate up to 100 accounts in each pack with unlimited packs available.
Share a link allowing others to follow all accounts in the pack with a single tap.
Optionally assign a category that aligns with Warpcast’s onboarding interests.
4. Farcaster Rolls Out Enhanced Muting Features
Farcaster introduces new tools for muting keywords, tokens, users, and domains, giving users greater control over their feeds. Here’s what’s new:
Adding $ as a mute keyword will block all casts with tokens.
Muting $token blocks casts with that specific token.
Muting a user now also mutes casts that mention them, including anon and token-deploying accounts.
For domains, muting will now block casts with frames and URLs from that domain. You can locate a frame's URL in the bottom-right corner of the cast. These updates aim to refine your feed experience further.
