Dan Romero provided a detailed update on Farcaster's channels and clarified their current status and future direction:

1. Channels Are Not a Priority Right Now: While channels remain in an indefinite grace period, there’s no immediate focus on their development. If expiration policies are implemented in the future, advanced notice will be provided.

2. Abandoned Channels: Plans to address abandoned and squatted channels will coincide with a larger focus on channel decentralization, but only when this becomes a top priority.

Farcaster is focusing on key areas to enhance the platform:

• Frames UX: Improving user experience, particularly for onchain interactions.

• Discovery Tools: Making it easier to find and engage with onchain projects and creators.

• Snapchain Scaling: Ensuring the underlying protocol can scale effectively.

• Cheaper Sign-Ups: Addressing high costs to onboard larger app user bases.

• Farcaster Connect: Migrating from Sign in with Farcaster to allow broader authentication support for apps and frames.

• Onboarding Enhancements: Optimizing rewards and invite systems to improve user adoption.

Farcaster remains committed to evolving its ecosystem, prioritizing impactful developments while keeping the community informed.

Post Anonymously, Earn Rewards
AnonWorld introduces leaderboards to reward quality anonymous content! Here’s how it works:

• Scoring: Earn points based on Farcaster engagement.

• Eligibility: Post in communities with rewards pools funded by token fees.

• Rewards: Payouts start January 22 via /veil.

• Timeline: Competition kicks off on January 15.

  

Why Only Some Communities?
Rewards pools depend on trading fees generated by the community’s token. Communities using tokens launched outside AnonWorld won't have a seeded pool.

Important Note on Credentials
Deleted credentials or profiles will make it impossible to claim rewards for old posts. Be mindful of this when managing your AnonWorld activity.
