After Varun announced that power badges would be hidden for a week in order to test their necessity on Warpcast, it has been decided that power badges will be permanently removed from the Warpcast UI.

New users were having difficulty getting followers due to “power badge bias”, and there wasn’t as much functionality for the power badge to justify its use. Since Warpcast’s machine learning can efficiently filter low quality content, the test found no impact on active users and their content, while slowing new users to be seen and followed without bias.

For developers who may be worried about this, Neynar will still support the Power Badge API, while Airstack’s Far Score provides a useful alternative to the power badge.

Zora has announced a major upgrade, using Uniswap to bring the secondary markets onchain, adding value for creators and collectors even after a mint has ended. So for anyone who has missed a mint from their favourite creator, they can now be bought on the secondary market for the best available price.

In pairing Zora with Uniswap, Secondary Rewards has been created as a new form of creator royalties. This means that every time a collector buys and sells on Uniswap, the creator earns a percentage of that sale through the LP fees.
